A Prayer for the COVID 19 Crisis

Almighty and Everlasting God,

You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.  Therefore, we will not fear.

You are our fortress, our God, in whom we trust.  For you will deliver us from the deadly pestilence.  Your faithfulness is a shield and buckler.  Help us not to fear the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at midday.

Be moved to pity when you see our calamity and restrain your hand of judgement.  Take the coronavirus from our land and our world.

To everyone affected by COVID 19 grant mercy, relief, and refreshment.  Give those suffering healing and, if not, give them and their families strength and confort.

Look upon and visit the cities of the world in their distress over the coronavirus.  Renew the ties of mutual regard in those cities and protect life.

Send us honest and able political leaders at all levels of government who would unite our nation in response to this crisis.  Grant relief from political infighting and help them to overcome cowardice in the face of the political implications of their many decisions.  Let our rulers govern according to what is right as revealed in the Bible.

We pray your hand of protection over those in the health care profession who care for people with COVID 19.  Grant them safety and emotional security during the times when they emulate the Spirit of the Great Physician in their care for others,  Give them the respirators, face shield, suits, and other means to protect themselves.  Give them the ventilator tubes and other supplies they need to care for the sick.  Bless the efforts of those who would produce and provide those materials and supplies.

And, above all, let many people repent and believe the good news of what Christ has done for us during this difficult time.  Grant a strong and true spiritual  revival for the people of Tennessee, the United States, and around the globe.

Answer our prayers according to what is best for us as you have promised in your Word.

In Jesus Name,

Amen!

I wonder if we run the numbers we will see any difference in COVID 19 outcomes between Atheists and Believers. I mean all those prayers have to have some effect right, Right? Although with all requests for prayers from Herman Cain Award nominees I am suspecting that we will see a measurable difference between them.

I don’t think there would be much difference.

I believe that every time a non-believer gets COVID, a believer gets COVID just so the world can see the differences between them. Christians have always died well, and that is still the case.

Besides, my prayer covers non-Christians as well. I also see that the pandemic has slowed. Maybe it all did work after all.
